On September 16, Farasis Energy announced on its interactive platform that its third-generation semi-solid-state
battery,
currently under development
, is scheduled for mass production in 2026. This battery technology incorporates solid electrolytes in both the positive and negative electrodes and utilizes in-situ solidification technology to reduce the electrolyte content in the battery cell. Currently, Farasis Energy's soft-pack battery cells have achieved an energy density of 400Wh/kg, and it anticipates achieving an energy density exceeding 500Wh/kg through further technical optimization.
Farasis Energy stated that reducing electrolyte content and introducing solid oxide electrolytes will improve cell safety. The compatibility of solid electrolytes with high-energy-density active materials is key to achieving highly safe all-solid-state batteries. Furthermore, the company has completed sampling of its first-generation sulfide all-solid-state battery and has developed second-generation sulfide all-solid-state battery technology, which utilizes a lithium-rich manganese-based/high-nickel ternary cathode and a lithium metal anode, achieving an energy density of 500Wh/kg. These technological advancements demonstrate Farasis Energy's in-depth research and rapid development in the solid-state battery field.
