| SRS Maintenance Precautions (Precautions) | In vehicles equipped with airbags, if the correct procedures are not followed, the airbags may accidentally deploy during maintenance, leading to serious accidents. 1. The symptoms of airbag failure are difficult to determine, so the fault code becomes the most important signal source in troubleshooting analysis. When performing troubleshooting analysis, be sure to read the fault code first before disconnecting the battery. 2. When the ignition switch is in the LOCK position, the airbag may still work within 90 seconds after the negative electrode of the battery is disconnected, so maintenance work can only be started 90 seconds after the negative electrode of the battery is disconnected. When the negative electrode of the battery is removed, the content stored in the clock and audio will be deleted, so before performing maintenance work, the content stored in the audio system must be recorded first. After the maintenance is completed, press the storage to reset the audio and adjust the clock. If the vehicle is equipped with equipment with storage functions such as electric tilt and electric telescopic steering columns, electric seats, electric exterior mirrors, electric seat belts, etc., it is impossible to record the storage content. During maintenance, the customer should be explained first and asked to adjust and reset the storage content by himself. 3. In the event of a minor collision, the front airbag sensor and steering wheel pad should be inspected even if the airbag is not deployed. 4. Do not use parts from other vehicles. 5. When performing other repairs, if there is a possibility that the sensor will be vibrated, the airbag sensor should be removed before starting the work. 6. Do not disassemble and repair the front airbag sensor, airbag safety sensor or steering wheel pad for reuse. 7. If the front airbag sensor, airbag safety sensor assembly or steering wheel pad has been dropped, or the housing, bracket, connector has cracks, dents or other defects, replace it with a new part. 8. Do not expose the front airbag sensor, airbag safety sensor assembly, steering wheel pad and other parts directly to hot air or near open flames. 9. When troubleshooting circuits, a high-impedance multimeter should be used. Front airbag sensor 1. If the airbag has been deployed in a collision, do not reuse the original airbag sensor (replace the left and right airbag sensors). 2. When installing, the arrow on the airbag sensor should point to the front of the vehicle. 3. The fixing bolts of the front airbag sensor have been rust-proofed. After removing the sensor, be sure to replace them with new fixing bolts. 4. There is an electrical inspection mechanism in the front airbag sensor. The spiral cable (in the combination switch) steering wheel must be correctly installed on the steering column when the spiral is in the middle, otherwise the spiral cable will be disengaged or other faults will occur. Steering wheel pad 1. When removing the steering wheel gasket or installing the steering wheel gasket, the upper surface of the gasket should face up. 2. Never measure the resistance of the air bag deployment trigger. 3. Do not apply butter to the steering wheel gasket, nor use any type of detergent to clean it. 4. Store the steering wheel gasket in an environment below 93 degrees and low humidity, and away from electrical noise. 5. Before performing electric welding work, the air bag connector should be disconnected first.
