ez430 chronos Over-the-air update
This mode allows you to update the firmware of an eZ430-Chronos watch wirelessly without disassembling the watch.
Update steps:
1. Click "Browse..." to select the CC430 flash image. Sample images for the sports watch software and data logger applications are located in C:\ProgramFiles\Texas Instruments\eZ430-Chronos\Recovery\eZ430-ChronosWatch\Applications (for Windows) and /home//TexasInstruments/eZ430-Chronos/Recovery/eZ430-Chronos Watch/Applications (for Linux).
Note: Make sure to select the correct flash image version. If the incorrect frequency is selected, wireless communication will no longer work. In this case, the watch must be updated using the eZ430 debug interface.
Only after the flash image has been transferred to the watch can the updater software on the watch be called.
The file downloaded to the watch must be in TI-TXT format to work with this update process. This new firmware must reside in the main memory flash (0x8000 to 0xFFFF), otherwise the update process will fail due to boundary checks on the watch. 2. Click "Update eZ430-Chronos Watch" to activate the update mechanism on the PC. When the PC is ready, the Control Center status line shows "Access point started. Now startwatch in rFbSL mode". 130848 The Control Center status line shows "Failed to start Wireless Update" Check if the RF Access Point contains the correct software version. Kits older than April 2010 (the data code can be found on the bottom of the eZ430-Chronos box) require a manual update of the Access Point. 3. Select "rFbSL" on the eZ430-Chronos watch by pressing the "#" button. 4. Press the "DOWN" button once to switch to the confirmation menu 5. Press "DOWN" again to initialize the update 6. After a short while, the update starts When the update starts, the LCD will display "rAM" for a few seconds. During this time, the actual update program software is downloaded from the PC to the RAM of the CC430 on the watch. This program contains all the memory writes and LCD routines. When this transfer is complete, the code is executed from the RAM and the download of the firmware file begins. The LCD displays the download progress as a percentage in the upper LCD display line. After the transfer is complete, a reset starts the software in the watch.

I would like to ask an expert, does the latest Chronos AP (white PCB) support wireless updates? There is no problem with the three-axis acceleration and time synchronization. I took a quick look at the AP code and it seems that it does not support wireless updates, and only under CCS. [ This post was last edited by reayfei on 2013-10-8 15:33]

I haven't seen the new version, but it seems that this function must be supported.
