Share how IAR generates the required debugging format [Copy link]

I often see people asking this. It is actually very easy to set up. There are only a few steps:

Right click on the project and select options

Then click Linker in the left column

In the Linker tab, select the first item output

Check the option under Output file

and change the output file name suffix to what you need, such as .hex.

In the Format option box, select Other,

Output and select inter-extneded and it's OK (set as needed)
