Application of L295 in four-phase stepper motor drive

The overheat protection of L295 is to turn off the switch when the chip temperature exceeds 1500C.
Due to the hysteresis circuit, the temperature drops to about 1300C and returns to normal state.
1_295 can be used for various inductive coil controls , such as valve solenoids, printer print
heads, stepper motors and DC motor drives. By controlling the vREFta level , the valve
can be accelerated with a higher starting current and then maintained with a lower current. Figure 11
25 shows the connection diagram of the unipolar drive of the four-phase stepper motor. Rtr can also be used as a stepper
motor to select different amplitude currents at different operating speeds. When the stepper motor at this coordinate
does not move without command pulses, a lower holding current can be used . L295 can also
change the connection method to obtain H-bridge driving mode.
