Modifying a drum washing machine with a universal controller board

A Xiaoya Sangio XQG50-NM156N drum washing machine was modified into a washing machine with only basic functions such as washing, draining and dehydration using a washing machine universal board because its mechanical program controller was broken.
For the convenience, economy and simplicity of operation, a universal board for washing machine controller is selected. The wiring diagram of the universal board for washing machines is shown in the figure above. To be suitable for drum washing machines, its circuit is modified as shown in the figure below.
Modification points: 1. Connect the power switch and door lock of the original washing machine in series as shown below. 2. Short-circuit the cover switch (because the drum washing machine does not have this safety switch). 3. Add a 220V relay to change the speed. 4. Glue the operation panel to the appropriate position of the washing machine with double-sided tape or other glue.
Working principle: Press the power switch, the control panel is energized after the door is locked, and the working process is the same as that of a general washing machine. However, when draining, the drain motor and the relay are energized at the same time. While draining, the relay also switches the speed. The relay contacts are changed from the original normally closed contacts 3-5 and 4-6 to normally open contacts 3-1 and 4-2, that is, when dehydrating, the original low-speed washing motor is converted into a high-speed dehydration motor. After the drainage and dehydration procedures are completed, the relay loses power and returns to its original state until the washing is completed.
After this modification, although some functions are lost, the clothes can still be washed cleanly, and it is economical and simple. This method is for reference to avoid the trouble of not being able to find a suitable controller.
