DA7202 Class D Speaker Driver User Guide
Introduction
DA7202 is a powerful, high efficiency, low EMI Class-D speaker driver that can drive 7W into
8 loads directly from a 2S lithium-ion battery pack. The DA7202 evaluation board has been
produced to allow measurement and evaluation of the DA7202 device.

External Connections and Operation
The following connections are needed in order to operate the DA7202 evaluation board.
1. Power supply VPWR = 5.5V – 9V either from a battery or a bench supply to J2.
2. Power supply PDN_N = 2.0V – 5.5V from a battery or bench supply to J6.
3. Analogue differential mono audio input from a signal source to J3.
4. Inductive 8
speaker to J5.
5. Removal of jumper link from J7 (PDN_N control, Note 1).

Note 1. PDN_N control: 1. Jumper link fitted on J7 (GND) => DA7202 in power down state.
2. No jumper link on J7 => DA7202 in normal operating state.
The transition between the states contains pop minimised power-up and power-down
sequences. Thus, the PDN_N control should be used to turn DA7202 on and off.

Power Supply
The DA7202 has high PSRR and may be run directly from a battery or, for evaluation
purposes, a bench supply.
Analogue Input
The analogue input connection contains DC block capacitors (C1 and C9) which allow input
signal with any DC level to be connected.
The DA7202 has fixed 18dB gain. The resistors R1 and R2 (shorted by default) can be
replaced by a potential divider if the user wishes to achieve lower gain.
The DA7202 input is differential but it is possible to use the EVB with single ended input by
connecting the signal to IN+ and grounding IN- at J3.
Speaker Output
An inductive 8 speaker load can be connected directly to J5. It is advised to keep the length
of the speaker cable as short as possible to minimise the EMI.
There is no EMI filter on the EVB by default. FB1 & 2, C10, C11, C2 & C3 can be fitted to
reflect the customers required filtering if needed.
There is also an additional filter (L1-2, C12-13) on the EVB but that is not needed in normal
evaluation. This filter will be needed only if the speaker load is non-inductive or the speaker
cable is really long (>2m).
