Low Dropout Regulator
What is the LND-7800?
The LND-7800/78L00 is Linear Dimensions’ version of the popular LND-7800
series low dropout regulator family. These devices offer voltage regulation
at extremely low cost. The devices are particularly useful in applications
such as wall adaptors, toys, or wall plugged devices which aren’t power
critical but which require power regulation. These devices are available in
a variety of voltage varieties including 5, 6, 8, 9, 12, 15, 18 and 24V.
How does it work?
To use the device simply connect the power and GND pins, the centre pin
will represent the regulated output voltage.
How Do I get samples?
The LND-7800/78L00 are available in standard TO-92 plastic packages in
both sample and volume. When ordering, replace the 00 with the appropriate
voltage level, eg. LND-7805 would result in a 5V, TO-92, plastic package
part.
