Stewart Connector’s Large Diameter modular plug
is
designed to terminate directly to CAT6a and CAT6 large diameter solid conductor
cabling. Typical modular plugs are designed for use on patch cable assemblies and
therefore are designed to terminate to stranded conductors of wire sizes from AWG 24
through AWG 26. However, in many direct connect, or consolidation point applications
where link lengths exceed 10 Meters, a horizontal cable type is specified. Horizontal
cable is normally made with solid conductor copper wire in the diameter range of AWG
23 through AWG 24. This larger copper size translates into larger conductor diameters
which make terminating to a traditional modular plug problematic. Stewart’s unique
loadbar and contact design accommodates this large diameter cabling in the form factor
of a standard RJ45 plug. To learn more visit

Stewart Connector’s CAT6 UTP modular plug
allows users to
build patch cables using small diameter AWG28 and AWG30 cabling. Most traditional
patch cables are built using AWG 24 and AWG 26 cable, so industry standard plug
designs are not suitable to terminate to smaller AWG28 and AWG30 cable. The Stewart
design uses a unique, proprietary contact design and wire alignment system to insure
proper cable to plug terminations providing reliable long term connections. The wire
manager included in the plug kit allows for precise conductor placement which results
in repeatable consistent assemblies and patch cord performance. Included in the
plug kit is a new low profile boot design which accommodates smaller diameter cable
and strain relief protection from exceeding cable manufacturer’s minimum bend radius
