GENERAL APPLICATIONS
Dynasound’s DS1338 soundmasker is designed for quick and easy installation into open structure
architecture. When suspended, the loudspeaker assembly offers a clean appearance with no exposed
controls or wiring from below. The DS1338 provides uniform dispersion and is well suited for
soundmasking, paging and music signals.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The DS1338 contains a six-inch diameter speaker mounted off axis within the enclosure, reducing
standing acoustical waves. The compact enclosure includes a convoluted, flame-retardant, acoustical
insert to further reduce standing waves and metallic resonance. The internal 70.7-Volt transformer
includes taps at 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2 and 4 Watts. A factory installed rotary switch, with an “OFF” position,
provides easy adjustment for uniform soundmasking. The unit is ETL listed to conform to UL1480,
UL2040 and is certified to CSA Standard C22.2 60065.
INSTALLATION AND OPERATION
The DS1338 comes completely assembled and ready to install. The DS1338 is intended to be wired in
parallel with other speakers, driven by 70.7-Volt amplifier. The DS1338 has a two-wire lead protruding
from the assembly, black is common. If conduit is not required, the connection points are pushed back
into the enclosure, and the included hardware provides strain relief for the connection. If conduit is
required, please contact Dynasound for alternative solutions.
