Optopipe

Light Pipe Description

This Optopipe™ is ultrasonically welded to the customer’s plastic housing using the tab at the top of the part. The light

pipe is not attached to the PCB at any point, but floats above it. The light emitting surface is textured to increase its

viewing angle. The selection of a suitable LED light source is left to the customer’s discretion. However, reflector type light

sources like our 597 Series PLCC-2 or PLCC-4 Type SMT LEDs are good choices. The light pipe material is water clear

transmissive polycarbonate rated UL94-V0, and has a 35% oxygen index.
