GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The LL888 is a complete 410 kbps near field
communication transceiver that uses a GMSK
modulated
magnetic
field
to
wirelessly
interconnect devices. Operating at or near a
frequency of 13.56MHz, the near field magnetic
system enables low power, high quality of
service
short-range
data
communication
between devices. The low power system on chip
architecture is ideal for sending CD and MP3
audio data to wireless headphones. The system
can also be used for data control and
transmission in commercial and industrial
applications.
The LL888 transceiver is used on both sides of
the wireless link and requires minimal external
components. The antenna configuration consists
of a ferrite coil antenna on one transceiver and
three small orthogonal antennas on the second
transceiver.
The
internal
microprocessor
provides diversity and power control to the
antenna system.
The system is configured with firmware to meet
application requirements. A reference design is
available which combines a few readily available
components such as EEPROM and ADC/DAC to
provide a full wireless audio system solution.
