Deluxe Series Serial Adaptors - Featuring L-com’s Exclusive Steel Case Design
All of the EIA232 devices shown on this page make use of a proprietary sturdy steel case with heavy nickel
plate. This design not only makes it more compact but also makes the unit almost indestructible and provides
full shielding. All units come with appropriate fastening hardware.

Deluxe Data Line Monitor - With Bipolar Red and Green LEDs to Test EIA232 Lines
The DLMS-2 provides the user with the ability to determine the true status of the operating port. When the
Data Line Monitor is inserted between the data terminal and the data transmission equipment, it continuously
monitors and displays the seven most critical lines of the EIA232 data path. The indicators show red for a
positive high and green for a negative low. The monitored lines are: Transmit Data (TD) pin 2, Receive Data
(RD) pin 3, Request to Send (RTS) pin 4, Clear to Send (CTS) pin 5, Data Set Ready (DSR) pin 6, Data Carrier
Detect (DCD) pin 8, and Data Terminal Ready (DTR) pin 20. Each LED circuit draws about 3 ma and
operates in the EIA range of 3.5 to 25 volts. A prime feature is the chrome plated metal enclosure that provides
shielding and has the ability to take extensive abuse.

Do-It-Yourself Kits - Make It Easy to Build Your Own Custom EIA232 Adaptors
The DIYS Series allows the creation of practically any type of EIA232 Adaptor. Choice of three kit models,
depending on gender and whether your needs require shielding. The DB25 connectors have solder cup
terminations to accept soldered wire leads. Each kit comes with the following basics: Two DB25 connectors
(gender specified below), two snap-on half covers (chrome plated metal), and two sets of hardware for the
connector ends. No wires are supplied.

Data Jumper Box - PCB Simplifies Design of Custom EIA232 Adaptor Assembly
The DJBS Series provides the easiest way to customize EIA232 interface devices. All 25 pins of the DB25
connector terminations are already soldered to the PCB. The board layout, with numbered traces and predrilled
holes, makes it easy to wire your own adaptor. The 25 pre-stripped connection jumpers are supplied, more than
you need to solder for permanent wiring. Many interfaces can be built such as, null modems, pin reversers,
you name it. Metal chrome covers provide shielding and longer useful life. Appropriate hardware is provided
with each unit.

Serial Line Protectors - Ultimate Protection Against Transient Voltages and Spikes
Silicon Avalanche Zener Diodes on each crucial line provide the most reliable protection against transient
voltages to eliminate downtime and equipment damage. Avalanche diodes are faster reacting than MOVs and
are voltage sensitive to provide a more accurate 27V threshold level for your sensitive micro processing
circuits. The eight critical lines protected are as listed. All lines are wired through with pin #1 and shield
