Low Profile PC Power transformers are used in
semi-conductor control and instrumentation. They
are used extensively in single or dual output DC
supplies, isolated control circuit & reference
supplies.

The added isolation reduces interwinding capacitance,
eliminating the need for an electro-static shield.
Additionally, it reduces radiated magnetic fields.
