The FBCon DP fieldbus distributors are used to couple 1 to 8

actuators, sensors or remote I/Os to a PROFIBUS network.

The branches (T-pieces) connect the individual bus

components to the bus cable. The length of the branch cable

depends on the transmission rate and should be as short as

possible.

The total of all branch lengths for transmission rates up to 1.5

MBaud may not exceed 6.6 m.

The trunk line is run over EMC cable glands into an

aluminium / stainless steel housing and connected using

tension-clamp terminals.

The branch line to the device is connected using a B-coded

M12 socket or an EMC cable gland.

Terminating resistors must be wired onto the start and end of

the PROFIBUS-DP network. The Terminator modules can take

care of this task.

The 24 V DC power supply is introduced via the right-hand

cable gland. The housing features a pressure-compensation

mechanism that counters the effects of climatic fluctuations.

The guidelines issued by the PROFIBUS user organisation

must be observed during installation.

The distributors have the following characteristics:
