Methode P5015
All Plastic Connectors
and Cable Assemblies
Methode Plastic 5015s are designed and manufactured
to intermate with MIL-C-5015 metal connectors. Ex-
ceptional impact and corrosion resistance coupled with
liquid tight sealing capabilities make them an excellent
choice for harsh environmental applications. These
connectors are designed to comply with UL, CSA and
NEMA standards and are available in Super Tough
Nylon as well as other materials for specific applica-
tions.

Materials
Boot Overmold:
Polypropylene
Coupling Ring:
Molded in Super Tough glass-filled
nylon
Hex Nut:
Molded in Super Tough glass-filled nylon
Contacts:
Screwed machined from solid brass
Contact Plating:
Silver over copper (standard) or
optional gold over nickel
Conductor:
OVC (standard) or per customer
specification
Voltage Rating:
600 VRMS, sea level
Contact Resistance:
Ratings apply where connector is
not disengaged under load. Raised barriers between
contact increase effective creep path.
Mechanical
Durability:
Minimum 300 mate/unmate cycles without
mechanical or electrical failure.
Vibration:
Meets or exceeds MIL-C-5105 specification
Contacts:
Socket contacts designed to prevent entry of
an oversize probe.
Coupling Ring:
Threaded coupling ring is designed
with a thread relief to force contact engagement with
mating part before threading can start
Wire Termination:
Crimp method or solder connection
Environmental
Temperature:
Humidity exposure +70°C @ 90 RH,
-40°C; 2 hour soak, 10 cycles; 30 minute ramp time
Moisture Seals:
No ingress of water into contact areas
of fully mated and locked connector pair when a water
spray (rain simulation) is directed at the assembly for
30 minutes. Optimum resistance is provided by the
molded-on cable construction.
Corrosion Resistance:
No damage to assembly when
subjected to a 96 hour salt spray per ASTM B117-90.
(Applies to connectors with gold plated contacts).
Molded nylon housings and hardware are inert to
environmental contaminants.
Chemical Resistance:
Connections are impervious to
gasoline, transmission and brake fluids, industrial oils,
lubricants, and corrosive agriculture chemicals.
