The OMR970X series are radiation hardened dual solid-
state relays in hermetic packages designed specifically
for military and space applications. They are configured
as dual, single pole-single throw (SPST) normally open
relays with common input ground. These devices have
been characterized for 100 krads(Si) total dose. The input
and output MOSFETs utilize International Rectifier’s R5
technology, which provides high performance for space
applications. The OM970x series are optically coupled and
actuated by standard logic inputs.

Radiation Performance
International Rectifier Radiation Hardened MOSFETs are tested to verify their hardness capability. The
hardness assurance program at Intenational Rectifier uses a Cobalt-60 (
60
Co) source and heavy ion
irradiation. Both pre- and post- irradiation performances are tested and specified using the same drive
circuitry and test conditions to provide a direct comparison.
