MIL-STD-1760 Type 2 (MIL-DTL-83538)
Stores Management Systems
The 1760 Type 2 differs from the Type 1 in that
it is specifically designed for rail launch
applications. Type 2 blindmate comprises
launcher receptacle, buffer, missile receptacle
and protective cap and is designed for a quick
coupling of stores where access is restricted.
The buffer provides protection for the
launcher receptacle from the missile efflux and
is replaceable as necessary. The buffer has
fixed pin contacts and is supplied with a full
complement of contacts.
Special buffer adaptors are available for
connection of various configurations of stores
aircraft - please consult Deustch.
