Application Notes
1. Operating Temperature Range
The NTC Thermistors shall not be operated beyond the
specified Operating Temperature Range.
the devices. In soldering the devices, the glass sealed
section shall not be touched by molten solder and/or
heated iron tip.
2. Protective Circuit
When the NTC Thermistors are applied to equipment
for temperature sensors, user is recommended to
ensure safety level of the equipment by adding a
protective circuit and/or retardant-design curcuits.
6. Bending of the Lead Wires
3. Plastic Molding and Coating
The NTC Thermistors (Glass-Sealed Type) are easy-
breakable against mechanical stresses. Bending of
the lead wires shall be done 2 mm and more apart
from galss edges of the devices after securing/
claming the lead wires.
If another plastic molding or coating is applied to the
NTC Thermistors by user's option, the influences on
reliability of the devices shall be investigated in user's
equipment.
7. Environmental Conditions
4. Abnormal Mechanical Stresses
The NTC Thermistors may be damaged or deteriorated
when dropped or exposed to a large mechanical
impact or shock. Excessive impact or shock shall
not be applied to the devices. Dropped devices shall
not be used in your equipment.
The NTC Thermistors shall not be operated and/or
stored under following environmental conditions;
a) To be exposed directly to water or salt water.
b) Under conditions of dew formation.
c) Under conditions of corrosive atomosphere such as
hydrogen sulfide, sulfurous acid, chlorine and
ammonia.
8. Long Term Storage
5. Soldering
Soldering of the terminations shall be done at a
position of 2.5 mm or more apart from glass edges of
The NTC Thermistors shall not be stored under severe
conditions of high temperatures and high humidities.
Store them indoors under 40 ¡C max. and 75 %RH max.
Use them within one year and check the solderability
before use.
Design, Specifications are subject to change without notice.
