This instruction sheet covers the installation of MTA
Terminating Head Repair Kits 856600–[ ] for repair of
the terminating heads listed in Figure 1. Read these
instructions thoroughly before using the repair kit.
Refer to the instructions packaged with the MTA
terminating head for setup and adjustment
instructions.
Reasons for reissue of this instruction sheet are
provided in Section 5, REVISION SUMMARY.
2. DESCRIPTION
1
Each repair kit is designed to replace all of the
wearable parts in the terminating head. The items
contained in the repair kit and their function are as
follows:
Cam — indexes the feed slide after each termination
Locating pawl — aligns the connector for insertion
and retains it during termination
Feed pawl (with compression spring) — engages the
connector and indexes it into position for termination

3. INSTALLATION (Terminating Head Repair)

1. Remove the four hex head screws securing the
housing to the terminating head. See Figure 2.
2. Depress the adjuster slightly, and pull the
housing straight off the terminating head.
