8-step adjustable
manual-feed, pneumatic crimping tool is a fast,
versatile, four-indenter tool for crimping MIL-STD
and proprietary circular contacts. It is designed to
be a pneumatic version to the M22520/2-01 hand
tool and is compatible with all of the M22520/2
positioners for crimping contact sizes 20-28 and
wire sizes 20-32 AWG.
Externally, the tool features a streamlined designed
with a better balanced weight distribution and
contoured grip for maximum comfort. The part
numbers for the new foot pedal and bench mount
assemblies are 621295 and 621296, respectively,
and the new design also offers suspension
mounting capabilities. The new tool design
measures at a reduced length of 9.45 inches and
weighs approximately 2.5 lbs.
Internally, the new direct-drive system replaces
the traditional cable and pulley system, which
was susceptible to tool jamming and incomplete
crimp cycles. A full crimp cycle is now achieved
by pneumatic logic, eliminating the mechanical
ratchet mechanism. This pneumatic logic creates
quality crimps and offers improved repeatability
that is not dependent on the operator. The
tightened tolerances in the indenter housing also
create better tip alignment for the

compared to ±.002 of old design). In addition, the
traditional stepped-block gaging mechanism has
been replaced by a gaging disk that enables easy,
360-degree selector knob adjustment, with precision
gaging.
