Overview
KEMET’s Commercial “L” Series with Tin/Lead Termination
surface mount capacitors in X7R dielectric are designed to
meet the needs of critical applications where tin/lead end
metallization is required. KEMET’s tin/lead electroplating
process is designed to meet a 5% minimum lead content
and address concerns for a more robust and reliable
lead containing termination system. As the bulk of the
electronics industry moves towards RoHS compliance,
KEMET continues to provide tin/lead terminated products
for military, aerospace and industrial applications and will
ensure customers have a stable and long-term source of
supply.
KEMET’s X7R dielectric features a 125°C maximum operating
temperature and is considered “temperature stable.” The
Electronics Components, Assemblies & Materials Association
(EIA) characterizes X7R dielectric as a Class II material.
Components of this classification are fixed, ceramic dielectric
capacitors suited for bypass and decoupling applications or
for frequency discriminating circuits where Q and stability of
capacitance characteristics are not critical. X7R exhibits a
predictable change in capacitance with respect to time and
voltage and boasts a minimal change in capacitance with
reference to ambient temperature. Capacitance change is
limited to ±15% from −55°C to +125°C.
