Product Descriptions
The DS1200-3 power supply features a very wide 90 to 264 Vac input voltage
range and employ active power factor correction to minimize input harmonic
current distortion and to ensure compliance with the international EN61000-3-2
standard – they have a power factor of 0.99 typical. The power supplies also
feature active ac inrush control, to automatically limit inrush current at turn-on to
55 A maximum.
The power supply employs a new ultra high efficiency conversion topology,
together with an innovative power transformer and rectifier construction that
further improves power density and reduces interconnect power losses. The
power supply’s main +12 Vdc payload output is digitally programmable over the
range 11.4 to 12.6 Vdc, and users have a choice of standard I

C or advanced
PMBus
TM
communications. The control software runs under Windows® on any
standard PC, and uses a highly intuitive graphical user interface to simplify
power supply set-up.
The DS1200-3 can deliver up to 98.4 A from its main +12 Vdc payload output,
and up to 6 A from its +3.3 Vdc auxiliary output. The supply has a 1U x 2U form
factor – it measures 10.9 x 3.3 inches, with a height of 1.6 inches – and has a
power density of more than 21 watts per cubic inch. When fed with a 180 to 264
Vac input, the DS1200-3 can achieve a very high – 91 percent typical –
conversion efficiency at 50 percent full load.
