Current sensor ACS724LLCTR-20AB-T verification board

Overview

5V power supply, derived signal from OUT to GND; 200MV/A resolution ACS724 current sensor IC is an accurate and economical solution for AC and DC sensing in industrial, automotive, commercial and communication systems. The small package is ideal for space-constrained applications and reduces cost by reducing board area. Typical application areas include motor control, load sensing and management, switching power supplies, and overcurrent fault protection. The device features accurate, low-offset linear Hall sensor circuitry with copper conductive paths near the die surface. The applied current through this copper conduction path generates a magnetic field that is sensed by the integrated Hall IC and converted into a proportional voltage. Current is sensed differentially to reject common-mode fields and improve measurement accuracy in magnetically noisy environments. Intrinsic device accuracy is optimized through the proximity of the magnetic field to the Hall sensor. Low-offset, chopper-stabilized BiCMOS Hall ICs provide precise ratiometric voltages and are precisely programmed after packaging. The output of the device has a positive slope as the current increases through the primary copper conductor path (from pins 1 and 2 to pins 3 and 4), which is used for current sensing. This conduction path has a conventional internal resistance of 1.2mΩ and has low power loss.
