USB to Sata hard drive based on INIC-1618L solution USB2.0

Overview

Introduction:
A USB to SATA bridge made based on the INIC-1618L solution, supporting USB2.0. The verification board has been in normal use on WKe Cloud for less than half a year. The verification is OK. For the official version verification progress, please see the naming suffix update.
The chips cost a few yuan each, and the peripheral materials are not expensive. One board can be made in single digits. As a 2.0 solution, it is quite good to use on devices that don’t care about speed.
Since the specification of this chip is not complete, the circuit is based on A 1.8-inch disk plan was modified from the board, so there is no complete schematic diagram, but the board has a complete BOM.

I will say a few words about the capacitance of the circuit. You can also use it as a reference when making your own finished products. The original v33 v12 on the 1.8-inch board (in the power supply from the chip itself) used 0.1uF (100nF) capacitors. , when I was making it, I would be lazy and use 1uF or 2.2uF capacitors to mix and use. The power-on test has not found any problems so far. Since it is the filter capacitor of the power supply part, the chip itself is powered by the theoretical value. Don’t use too outrageous values. It can be used, but since there is no complete information for reference, it is recommended that you use a 0.1uF parameter capacitor for the power supply pin of V33 V12 during the production process. It should be more stable according to the original board design reference.

At present, the first version of the official board is the yellow version of the PCB in the physical picture. This version has 0603 and 0402 resistors and capacitors of different sizes mixed together, which will make the material preparation more troublesome and complicated. The second official version is currently being redrawn. Except for the capacitor on the SATA signal line, which is 0402, all other resistors and capacitors are unified into 0603 package specifications, which facilitates material preparation and manual patching. The SATA socket will be replaced with a side-plug type, which is more beautiful. Many people mentioned Solving the hard drive power supply problem and using a HUB as a hard drive cage are also included in the update plan. Later, an auxiliary power distribution board will be released for 2.5-inch drives, and a 12V auxiliary power supply DC input board for 3.5-inch hard drives. , does not support QC or PD deception because the output of the public PD&QC protocol deceived by most power banks or fast charging heads is 18W. The instantaneous current when starting a 3.5-inch disk is relatively large, and it is easy to pull the power supply end to protect the output or fail to start normally. It is recommended that you provide a sufficient and reliable power supply for the hard disk, otherwise the disk will be damaged.
