VL822_Hub

Overview

VL822 is a 10G bandwidth 3.1gen2 usbhub chip. It is available in the Zhizhi Mall. A demo board was designed for testing. Based on the reference circuit design, RT6258CGQUF is used as a 5VDC-DC, which can provide a 5V 8A power supply. The power
switch uses a 2A bandwidth SY6288CAAC for stream detection;
some pitfalls were encountered during the test:
1. The USB SSD hard disk box used did not have enough bandwidth and could only run to 5G bandwidth;
2. The quality of the USB-C cable used was unreliable and under 10G bandwidth , it appears that the SSD hard disk box can only read but not write, and hangs up from time to time. Replace the cable to solve the problem.

In addition, the four LED indicators of the VL822 should be able to indicate the speed. Slow flashing means USB2.0, and fast flashing means USB3. .1 gen1 5G. If it is always on, it is USB3.1 gen2 10G mode. As shown in the last video, the keyboard, 5G bandwidth hub, and 10G bandwidth SSD box are respectively plugged in.
