A fast charging decoy device based on CH224K that can be used for both PD and QC, with a maximum decoy output of 20V.
1. Description of working mechanism
CH224K has two deception protocols, PD and QC protocols, so if these two channels are used, wouldn’t it be perfect?
The QC protocol uses two lines, DM and DP, so the male and female connectors of USB A must be used accordingly.
The PD protocol uses two wires, CC1 and CC2. Here you need to use the Type-C interface. Generally, 6Pin is enough for the female connector.
The male connector needs to be 16Pin, and the 12Pin connector does not have a CC2 line, so PD deception is unsuccessful.
Unless you are very confident in your soldering skills and can use a 24-pin plug, it is recommended that you use a 16-pin plywood male connector, which can be soldered with a soldering iron.
We don’t know whether the deception was successful or not. Do we need to bring a multimeter to measure it every moment? So the voltage step indicator light is added here.
Using the principle that the Zener diode will breakdown if overvoltage occurs, it should be noted that the Zener voltage value is not the corresponding voltage. The voltage drop of the LED must be subtracted. The recommended value is 3V.
For example, if the corresponding LED lights up when 9V is reached, the voltage stabilization value is 9-3=6V. You can choose a 6V or 5.1V voltage stabilizing diode, and so on.

However, the current-limiting resistor of the LED is not fixed. You can adjust the resistance value with your naked eyes. Sometimes it is too bright and it is not convenient to take pictures. Therefore, a connection hole for a voltmeter is added on the PCB, so you can choose one of the two.

2. The deception control
dial switch has four gears. The first gear is 9V. Only dialing this gear will decoy 9V output. The second gear is 12V, the third gear is 15V, and the fourth gear is 5V.
If everything is not dialed up, it is deceiving 20V.
How much voltage can be deduced depends on the capabilities of the fast charging device itself.
If the device itself only has a maximum of 12V, even if it is set to 20V, it will only apply for the highest 12V. It does not mean that it can output 20V if it is set to this setting.
3. PCB design
The layout provided by the PCB can only be used as a reference, because only one is a standard part, and the other three are interfaces and are non-standard libraries. Because the current overcurrent capabilities of the components in the standard library cannot be said to be unusable, you have to decide how much current you want to pass. Decided to revise.
For two-layer boards, the board thickness must be 1MM to be free.
If you want to carry a large current of 5A for a long time, it is recommended to change to a four-layer board, and the signal lines should be routed on the inner layer, so that the top and bottom layers have enough copper width to conduct current.
Safety tip:
The top layer is for the positive pole of the power supply, and the bottom layer is for the negative pole of the power supply. It is recommended to export a 3D shell prototype and install screws.
