Solar panel controller

The purpose of this project is to implement a solar panel controller. Originally developed for a sailboat, the goal is to control and protect the charge and discharge levels of a 12-volt lead-acid battery connected to a 32-watt solar panel.

This project is based on the 12F675 microcontroller and uses HEXFETs to switch the load and solar panels. The program was developed using PROTON+, and currently about 10 such small devices are running without any issues. Using a PIC processor provides extensive access to how the load is used (with or without overvoltage protection) or how the controller reacts when a full charge level is reached. This offers numerous possibilities for improvement.
