The electronic ignition circuit of the fluorescent lamp is shown in Figure 1-58.
The diodes VDI and VD2 in the circle and the capacitors CI and C2 form
a double voltage rectifier. After the power switch S is turned on, a
pulsating DC current with a maximum peak voltage of about 600V can be generated at both ends of the capacitor C2
, thus causing the fluorescent tube H to start quickly. When the lamp
is ignited, the resistor R acts as a voltage reduction and current limiting function, allowing the lamp
to emit light normally at a suitable current.
