The picture shows a fixed circuit automobile voltage regulator circuit composed of LM723 . It can replace the electromechanical charging voltage regulator composed of a generator system in the automobile, and its performance is better than the latter. It prevents undercharging or overcharging of 12V lead-acid batteries, thereby extending battery life. In the circuit, LM723 is used as a switching regulator to control the excitation current of the generator. The resistance of R2 needs to be adjusted so that the charging voltage can be maintained at the full voltage of a standard car battery of 13.8V. Q1 is a 2N2063A (SK3009), 10A, PNP transistor.
