RS232 BREAK-OUT BOX

A) DESCRIPTION

This portable, pocket size test set provides access to all 25 conductors of the RS232/V.24

interface between the data terminal and the data modem. Ten LED’s monitor the status at

the source of ten primary signals, and two additional LED’s for spare. Twenty-four miniature

switches allow all interface conductors (except frame ground or pin1) to be individually

interrupted allowing isolated testing and observation of terminal or modem signals. Pins on

each side of each switch and small jumper cables (stored in the cover) are provided to allow

cross-patching and monitoring of signals.



C) INSTRUCTION MANUAL

1. RS232 BREAK-OUT BOX is used to test and rewire RS232 interface. Put RS232

connector cable of BREAK-OUT BOX into the port of interface card. After that,

connect the cable which you want to test the RS232 port on the BREAK-OUT BOX.

2. There are 10 interface signal powered LED’s to permanently monitor TD, RD, RTS,

CTS, DSR, CD, TC, RC, DTR, (E)TC and two LED’s for spare.

3. 24 miniature switches enable you to break out circuits or reconfigure and patch any

or all of the 24 active positions.

4. 20pcs jumpers enable you to change the circuits.
