3M™ Polyester Protective Tape 335 and 336 are thin polyester tapes with a
low tack adhesive. Designed to protect finished surfaces from light abrasion,
nicks and scratches during production, packing, shipping and installation.

Features

Low tack rubber adhesive adheres to a wide variety of surfaces with minimal
adhesion build-up and clean removal when finished.

Provides excellent abrasion, tear, scratch, puncture and moisture resistance to
help protect surfaces.

Extensible, abrasion resistant backing is ideal for forming operations.

Pink color of the 3M tape 335 provides easy visibility for either application or
removal, providing quick identification of protected versus unprotected areas.

The transparent backing of the 3M tape 336 allows visual inspection without
tape removal.

These tapes can be used for extended periods of time up to 150°F (66°C)
and for 30 minutes or less at 250°F (121°C).

Application Techniques
•
Adhesion levels can increase from any of the following conditions:

Extended exposure to direct sunlight
High stacking pressures
Extended application to copper bearing surfaces
Sharp dies must be used when stamping parts protected with 3M tape
336 since dull dies result in nicked edges which cause tape slivering
upon removal.
Storage
Shelf Life
Store under normal conditions of 60° to 80°F (16° to 27°C) and 40 to 60%
R.H. in the original packaging.
To obtain best performance, use this product within 12 months
from date of manufacture.
