Unmanaged Ethernet media converter
The McBasic is an unmanaged Fast Ethernet media converter. Its sturdy
design includes a highly reliable internal power supply and plenty of ventilation
to support long-time performance in the field. It is set to Auto Negotiation by
default, but can also be set to a Force Mode for legacy devices.
The McBasic includes troubleshooting features such as LinkLoss and
FiberAlert, which can be enabled by DIP switches. These diagnostic features
allow the network administrator to quickly identify network faults.
The McBasic includes AutoCross on the twisted-pair port and the fiber port is
available in single-mode, multi-mode and single-strand fiber types.
A unique pair also provides single-strand fiber for multi-mode applications.
