The DTerminator 2 PTB/PTX/PTP pedestal-
mounted terminal block systems utilize Tyco
Electronics’ revolutionary GelGuard gel sealing
technology to environmentally protect the wire
connections. Three models have been designed.
The DTerminator 2 PTB terminal block offers
enhanced characteristics with a versatile
mounting system suitable for attachment to
any pedestal faceplate. This model cannot
be protected.
The DTerminator 2 PTX upgradable terminal
block includes a grounding strip. Although it is an
unprotected model, the PTX driver modules can
be easily replaced in the field with protected
driver modules, creating a protected pair unit
when needed.
The DTerminator 2 PTP protected terminal block
contains driver modules with environmentally
sealed circuit protectors. Each connection is
protected by a three-element gas discharge tube.

Product Information
• Tyco Electronics’ unique IIDC (inverted
insulation displacement connector)
accommodates 18 - 24 AWG (1.02 - .51 mm)
wires without requiring wire stripping or
special tools.
• Patented GelGuard gel sealing technology
provides superior performance and is
specifically formulated for environmentally
demanding terminal applications.
• An audible click indicates when the driver is
properly seated for wire insertion.
• A single bolt terminates each pair into a
driver module through which the connection
is visible.
• A single drop wire port further simplifies
installation by eliminating the chance of
placing the drop wire in the wrong port.
• Gel-protected test ports in the top of each
driver module facilitate fast, easy testing
with standard test clips.
• DTerminator 2 products are available in a
wide range of pair counts. Protected and
unprotected blocks of the same pair count
are the same size but different colors. See
ordering information below.
• DTerminator 2 terminals are UL Listed for
Indoor/Outdoor use when installed in a
suitably approved UL Listed enclosure
including units mounted on or inside a
building. Terminal blocks mounted in a
restricted access area inside a building do
not require an enclosure.
• Blocks are available in an upgradable design,
allowing for protection to be added when
needed on a pair by pair basis, saving
unnecessary initial cost.
• Driver modules can be re-entered and
re-sealed many times, even after prolonged
exposure to temperature extremes.
• Special circuit markers are available for easy
identification of special lines.
• Compliant with Telcordia specification
TR-NWT-000975 and TR-NWT-001305.
