Supervisor with Fast Propagation Delay and
Capacitor-Programmable
Reset Delay
General Description
The MIC2795/6/7/8/9 is a low-current supervisor with
capacitor programmable reset delay time. It provides an
active-low or active-high enable input and active-high or
active-low open-drain, active-high or active-low push-pull
outputs. The output (OUT or /OUT) of the device initiates a
reset signal when the sense voltage drops below the
threshold voltage (0.4V) or the device is disabled. When
the device is enabled, the output will assert after the
capacitor adjustable delay time for both the sense and
enable paths. The A versions all feature a capacitor
adjustable delay time for both the sense and enable paths,
while the P versions all feature a fixed 150ns on the
enable delay and capacitor programmable delay with the
sense voltage. A capacitor placed between the CTH pin
and ground sets a reset delay time from 1.25ms to 10s.
Floating the CTH pin sets a 20ms reset delay time, and
connecting CTH to VDD sets a 320ms delay time.
The MIC2795/6/7/8/9 operates from a supply voltage of
1.65V to 5.5V, and guarantees an active-low reset output
for supply voltages equal to or greater than 1V. The device
is rated to operate over the temperature range of
−40°C
to
+125°C.

/OUT is an active-low output pin and is available in an open-drain or push-pull
configuration.
The /OUT pin is de-asserted high when the SNS voltage decreases below the threshold
voltage. /OUT will remain high for the reset timeout delay after SNS > (V

In the open-drain configuration, an external pull-up resistor to VDD is required, the push-
pull configuration does not require a pull-up resistor.

Supply Ground.
Active-high enable input. Pulling the EN pin low will disable the part. In A versions, the
output will remain de-asserted for the reset timeout delay after EN goes high. I P versions,
output will assert 150ns after EN goes high. Do not leave floating.
Active-low enable input. Pulling the EN pin high will disable the part. In A versions, the
output will remain de-asserted for the reset timeout delay after EN goes low. I P versions,
output will assert 150ns after EN goes low. Do not leave floating.
Programmable timeout delay. Connect a capacitor (up to 1.5µF) to ground to set a user
defined reset delay time. Leave this pin unconnected for a reset delay time of 20ms.
Connect to VDD via a resistor (40kΩ to 200kΩ) to set a reset delay time of 320ms.
Connect the SNS pin to the voltage to be monitored or through a resistor divider. When this
voltage decreases below the threshold voltage, V

Supply voltage pin. Bypass this pin to GND with a 1µF capacitor placed as close to the pin
as possible.
