Monolithic Digital IC
DC Fan Motor Speed Control IC
Combining this IC (LB8502PM) and general-purpose motor driver IC, easy speed control by speed feed back is realized.
Compared to open loop control, this IC improves rotation speed precision and rotation speed variation due to load change.
Based on a duty pulse signal which is a speed command signal, and a FG signal (motor speed signal) from a driver IC,
command voltage which controls the driver IC is output. There are two types of the DC fan motor speed control IC due to
the difference in command voltage logic depending on the specification of the driver IC.
•
LB8500M : for the driver IC which accelerates the motor when the command voltage is low (single phase system).
•
LB8502M : for the driver IC which accelerates the motor when the command voltage is high (3 phase system).
•
LB8502M : automotive type of LB8502M, Operating Conditions at Topr=-40 to +95°C
