The MT9V403’s scanning mode can be programmed
to be either progressive or interlaced. It enables the
user to scan a single window within the whole im-
age just by indicating the desired rows and columns
that border the scanning area. The frame rate can
also be controlled using vertical blanking.
The MT9V403’s two-cell SRAM enhances perfor-
mance by immediately shifting data from the
previously converted row into the output memory.
This allows the readout of out-of-chip data to be
performed simultaneously with both signal integra-
tion and analog-to-digital conversion. At the same
time, Micron’s exclusive TrueBit
®
noise cancellation
and TrueColor
image fidelity ensure outstanding
image quality.

Imaging’s MT9V403 is one of the industry’s
fastest VGA-based CMOS active-pixel sensors, deliv-
ering superb resolution at a turbocharged 200 fps,
making it the perfect solution for row and machine
vision assembly lines, airbag deployment, golf
swing analysis, and special effects in movies.
Performance.
Performance. Performance.
With Micron’s exclusive TrueSNAP freeze-frame
electronic shutter, which allows the simultaneous
exposure of the entire pixel array, the MT9V403
captures very fast motion in sharp, crystal-clear
images. TrueSNAP gives the user the flexibility to
work in three separate modes: master, snapshot,
or slave. As master, the sensor itself generates
the readout timing. In the snapshot process, an
external trigger prompts the “exposure” of the im-
age and the readout timing. And when acting as a
slave, the sensor takes the readout timing from an
external source.
In the Store vs.
On the Drawing Board
The simple, digital interface provides tremendous
control of exposure time, frame rate, windowing
functionality, and other image capture parameters.
Best of all, it’s much easier to design a camera
around the MT9V403’s CMOS-based technology
than around a standard charged-coupled device
(CCD). It also allows designers to create smaller,
lower-power, higher-performance cameras with
faster times-to-market than they’d otherwise be
able to achieve.
