Please note: As part of the Fairchild Semiconductor integration, some of the Fairchild orderable part numbers
will need to change in order to meet ON Semiconductor’s system requirements. Since the ON Semiconductor
product management systems do not have the ability to manage part nomenclature that utilizes an underscore
(_), the underscore (_) in the Fairchild part numbers will be changed to a dash (-). This document may contain
device numbers with an underscore (_). Please check the ON Semiconductor website to verify the updated
device numbers. The most current and up-to-date ordering information can be found at
www.onsemi.com.
Please
email any questions regarding the system integration to

Description
The FSL136HR integrated Pulse Width Modulator
(PWM) and SenseFET is specifically designed for high-
performance offline Switch-Mode Power Supplies
(SMPS) with minimal external components. FSL136HR
includes integrated high-voltage power switching
regulators that combine an avalanche-rugged
SenseFET with a current-mode PWM control block.
The integrated PWM controller includes: Under-Voltage
Lockout (UVLO) protection, Leading-Edge Blanking
(LEB), a frequency generator for EMI attenuation, an
optimized gate turn-on/turn-off driver, Thermal
Shutdown (TSD) protection, and temperature-
compensated precision current sources for loop
compensation and fault protection circuitry. The
FSL136HR offers good soft-start performance. When
compared to a discrete MOSFET and controller or RCC
switching converter solution, the FSL136HR reduces
total component count, design size, and weight; while
increasing efficiency, productivity, and system reliability.
This device provides a basic platform that is well suited
for the design of cost-effective flyback converters.
The voltage applied to IRF3205 is VDS = 5V, VGS = 4V. According to the manual, when VGS = 4V, the current is less than 10A, which is much smaller than the drain continuous current of 110A mentioned in...
