Product 1
:
ADI's ADMV8818 digitally tunable filter
Digitally tunable filters can serve as a smaller and more compact alternative to large switched filter banks and cavity-tuned filters, providing a solution with dynamically adjustable operating frequency in advanced communication applications such as aerospace and defense.
ADI 's ADMV8818 is a fully monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) with four independently controlled high-pass filters (HPFs) and four independently controlled low-pass filters (LPFs) operating in the 2 GHz to 18 GHz frequency range. It can be programmed using a 4-wire serial port interface (SPI).
The controller for each filter in the ADMV8818 is 4 bits wide, providing 16 states to adjust its 3dB cutoff frequency, resulting in a bandwidth of up to 4GHz. The device's use of digitally switched capacitors provides improved filter linearity and frequency response compared to other varactor-based solutions. Its typical insertion loss is 3dB, and its wideband rejection is 3dB, minimizing system harmonics.
