The AEK-POW-L5964V1 expansion board is designed for motor vehicle or truck body applications that require different voltages, such as USB-PD or infotainment systems. This product features two independent converters that can provide fixed or variable output voltages via MCU control. The output current of each channel is up to 3A.
The evaluation board contains monitoring circuitry for input and output voltages, as well as LEDs to indicate operating status. EMI can be minimized through appropriate filtering techniques.
The converter is based on the L5964 step-down switching regulator (buck topology) with over-current and over-temperature protection. L5964 integrates the control, power switch and monitoring circuits of two converters as well as watchdog, wake-up and reset functions.
The AEK-POW-L5964V1 expansion board is part of the AutoDevKit program. It plugs into the top of other boards via a 4x20 male/female connector that is compatible with the 4x37 MCU male connector on the SPC58EC-DISP or AEK-MCU-C4MLIT1 evaluation boards.
A demo application and an AutoDevKit component plug-in are also provided for the SPC5-STUDIO tool environment.
