Overview

The STEVAL-BCN002V1B sensor node development kit supporting Bluetooth low energy uses the STEVAL-BCN002V1 multi-sensor board based on the BlueNRG-2 SoC ultra-low power Bluetooth application processor. The sensor board has an accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, air pressure, humidity, ToF ranging sensor and silicon microphone, and is powered by a CR2032 universal button battery.

The sensor board communicates with a smartphone that supports Bluetooth Low Energy and runs the ST BlueMS app, which can be downloaded through the Google Play and iTunes stores.
The STEVAL-BCN002V1D adapter board is used to program and debug the sensor board. The adapter board is powered via USB.

    • LIS2MDL: Magnetic sensor, digital output, 50 Gauss magnetic field dynamic range, ultra-low power, high performance, 3-axis magnetometer
    • VL53L1X: Long-distance time-of-flight sensor based on ST FlightSense technology
    • MP34DT05TR-A: MEMS audio sensor omnidirectional digital microphone, 64 dB SNR, -26 dBFS sensitivity, top opening, 122.5 dBSPL AOP
    • LPS22HH: Ultra-compact piezoresistive absolute pressure sensor, 260-1260 hPa, digital output barometer, fully molded dustproof, through-hole LGA package (HLGA)
    • HTS221: Capacitive digital sensor for relative humidity and temperature measurement
    • CR2032 battery powered (not included)
  • STEVAL-BCN002V1D programming board:
    • Program and debug firmware running on the sensor board
    • Powering the sensor board
  • ST BlueMS demo application is available in Android (Google Play) and iOS (iTunes) versions
  • Target application:
    • Internet of Things, Smart Buildings, Homes and Cities
    • Tracking system, supply chain/cold chain management
    • Smart agriculture (soil control, animal activity tracking, etc.)
