The operation renderings of the small dice toy made with CD4017 and NE555 , please watch the video for details! ! ! ! ! ! !

This is the SMD version. The lamp is welded to the bottom (direct plug-in is also possible). Make a box with 4 buttons to support it. When using it, you can press the panel at will to trigger it.
The CD4017 chip is a 5th-order Johnson decoding counter with 10 decoding output terminals and a clearing prohibition terminal.
main feature:
High-speed CMOS decimal counting
Maximum clock frequency 5.5MHZ
Standard symmetrical output characteristics
Supports 10 decoding outputs
Works within industrial standard temperature range
Cheap and powerful
Introduction:
Logic Type: Counter, Decimal Number of Bits Per Element: 10 Reset: Asynchronous Timing: Synchronous Count Rate: 5.5MHz Voltage - Power Supply: 3 V ~ 18 V Operating Temperature: -55°C ~ 125°C
A simpler application can be understood like this: when supplying 3-15V power to the chip and pulling the INHIBIT pin low. It will work normally. When the CLOCK pin has a pulse input, for example, 1 pulse count pulse output pin 1 outputs a high level and so on. When the 10th pulse is input, the CARRY pin will generate a pulse (you can string a cd4017 to act as a ten-digit counter and another string to act as a hundred-digit counter). The counted value is cleared when RESET is input to high level.
In this case, the non-stabilized mode of the NE555 chip is used to generate random pulses to the CLOCK pin of CD4017, and pin 6 is connected to the RESET pin (when pin 6 is high, the count is cleared to limit the 10 possibilities to 6) .
Display principle: When the switch NE555 is pressed and powered on, it generates random pulses to DC4017. DC4017 receives the pulses and starts counting pins 0 to 6 to cycle high. According to the characteristics of the display pattern, it displays 1 o'clock to 6 o'clock. Just connect it as shown below
. You can display the required 6 images, and you only need to control the high and low levels of 1, 1/2, 2/3/4 and 4 points to display the pattern.
The picture above converts 6 possibilities into 4-way driving lights. The diodes are used to cut off the current of other paths.
