To manually attach 8x16 0603 LEDs, it is recommended to use solder paste and a heating table for teppanyaki. Hot air guns and soldering irons are not suitable.

After soldering, you can use Arduino to test. There is a library TM16xx LEDs and Buttons that drives TM16 series chips . Open the TM1640_matrix routine in the Arduino IDE and change the number of display columns to 16. Then you can test whether the LED is soldered properly.
