Let’s just say it first, if you need to measure or use the inspection waveform, don’t rely on this design, it is really a design for learning! ! ! If it is just needed, there is no need to save money on this instrument. A handheld oscilloscope made of M3 worth dozens of dollars can be used for a while.
This project is just because I can’t use up the plug-in LEDs and need to consume some. I'll see if I can improve it later and make a larger dot matrix oscilloscope, which will still consume some LEDs.
The power input is +9V , R4 adjusts the 555 output frequency, and R11 adjusts the vertical position of the oscilloscope.
Adjust R4 to the left to increase the frequency output. According to the design parameters, the maximum frequency can reach 72.99khz. But in actual use, bigger is not always better.
You can use a signal generator to output a frequency of 60hz or 40hz, adjust R11 to center the waveform in the dot matrix, and slowly adjust the size of R4 back and forth.
