Multi-channel LDO distribution board v0.3 multi-channel buck power module

Overview

Multi-channel LDO step-down power module. One input branches out to four gradually decreasing voltage outputs. Each channel has a filter capacitor and a power indicator light. There is also a separate spare input and output. Compatible with most direct plug-in three-terminal regulated LDOs.

The resistor of the indicator light is installed vertically.

Each three-terminal voltage stabilizing position has 5 pads. Three of the adjacent pads are selected according to the pin arrangement of the three-terminal voltage stabilizing device. It is compatible with the pin arrangement of most direct plug-in three-terminal voltage stabilizing devices on the market. (O~I~G, I~G~O, G~O~I), such as LM2940 series, LM78** series. It is recommended to use the LM2940 series.

DC voltage is input from +Vin and GND, and the output from the input is one channel of Vin+ itself and three channels of three-terminal voltage regulators that step-by-step voltage reduction, a total of four channels of gradually decreasing voltage outputs. Select the input voltage and three-terminal voltage regulator as needed to get the required voltage. Such as 12V~9V~5V~3.3V.

Each path has a large number of pads and copper openings, and pin headers, wires and various things are soldered as needed.

Another spare independent input and output Vin_2 and GND_2 are not connected to +Vin and GND. They are led out in a separate row and can be connected to another power supply as needed.

A large area of continuous ground plane is paved with copper to ensure low ground loop impedance and reduce ground bounce interference.

There is an open pad in a small area in the upper left corner, surrounded by a row of +Vin, Vin2, GND and GND_2 pads (as shown below). There are no connections and it is used as a small hole board. For example, you can put a DCDC module or negative voltage module or other small circuit here to connect the surrounding pads, and transfer a power supply from +Vin as Vin_2. (As a side note, it is recommended not to use modules made of mc34063, as the ripple is large)

Why should I make my own power board instead of buying one, because the modules on the market have too few output bits and are not enough. Moreover, they are all chip LDOs and have insufficient power.

The previous version of this design was used in my 2021 e-sports competition and played an important role. After a small amount of improvements, the current version was formed.
