Overview


1. Introduction
 
This is a step-down adjustable power supply based on XL4016E1. It also has three commonly used voltage outputs: fixed 12V, 5V, and 3.3V, with a total of four outputs.

3. Product parameters

 
about XL4016E1: XL4016 is a high-efficiency step-down DC-DC converter with a fixed 180KHz switching frequency and features low ripple, linearity and load regulation. XL4016 has built-in fixed frequency oscillator and frequency compensation circuit, which simplifies circuit design.

The input voltage range is 12V~36V, and the output voltage is adjustable from 1.25V to 32V. The minimum voltage drop is 0.3V, the switching frequency is fixed at 180KHz, and the maximum current is 5A. The board may not be able to withstand it for a long time. The maximum conversion efficiency is as high as 96%. The chip has a built-in thermal shutdown function and a built-in output short-circuit protection function.
 

4. Instructions for use

 
1. In order to make all output ports normal, it is necessary to confirm that the input voltage range is between 12V~36V.
 
2. Turn on the power and turn on the switch, directly select the 3.3V/5V/12V interface according to the required voltage or adjust the potentiometer to the required voltage to select the adjustable output interface.
 
3. This module is a step-down type, so the adjustable output voltage will not be higher than the input voltage.
 


4. Although it has a built-in short circuit protection function, it will cause serious heat, so try to avoid it.
 
5. The chip description can provide a maximum output current capability of 12A, but the board design is limited. Long-term continuous use should be within 4A.

6. Precautions
(1) The two inductor material numbers in the project support a maximum current of 3.5A. If the current used is greater than 3.5A, you need to find an inductor to replace it.
(2) VIN has two interfaces. To facilitate the selection of power supplies from different interfaces, they cannot be connected at the same time.
