Nixie tube boost 2333

Overview

It's a pretty good power supply solution that has been beaten to death. It has high efficiency and heat generation. It is basically 0ma when no load is used. With 4-6 in14 Nixie tubes, no external heat dissipation is required. For
the transformer, choose a 1:10 boost ratio. That kind, the bigger the current, the better. Pay attention to the pins. The one I used is probably the 3.2A one. I bought it before, and I should still be able to buy it now. When choosing mos, pay attention to the withstand voltage. The one chosen on the schematic diagram is 150A. , the price is also cheap, just buy according to the model number.
-------------------------------------------------- --------- Note: The FREQ resistor is adjusted for the working frequency. The 499k marked on the schematic diagram may not be suitable for all transformers!!!!!!!!! You need to set and change the resistor
according to the actual situation of the transformer you bought.
Change the working frequency of 100k-500kHz. This depends on the optimal working frequency of the transformer you bought. The resistor corresponding to my transformer is about 175k, which is suitable.
In most cases, the transformer is hot/makes strange noises/the efficiency does not increase and it is working. The frequency is not set.
Please check the calculation in the chip manual for the specific resistance value. It’s a bit long and I’m too lazy to type 23333333
-------------------------------- ------------
I couldn't find the specifications of the transformer and was too lazy to look for it. During the test, I connected a 500k adjustable resistor at FREQ and removed it when the resistance was adjusted to the best efficiency value. Then find one with similar resistance value and solder it on. (When in doubt, choose to screw it up.)
The optimal operating frequency may change slightly under different operating voltages/output powers. You can set it according to your own situation.
------- ------------

The board is 17*18mm. It can basically be plugged into other places except watches
. Specific efficiency. The test uses 8 in12 Nixie tubes. The output is about 173v16ma, and the 5v input efficiency is about 84%. , the input voltage efficiency can be improved by increasing the input voltage. The 15v input efficiency is about 91%.
The measurement of the pointer voltage and ammeter is not accurate. The internal resistance of the 20ma ammeter is a bit large. Even if the pointer voltmeter is connected with no load, it will produce about 0.15w power consumption. Just for fun
, you can draw your own PCB based on the schematic. If the output voltage does not need to be adjustable, you can combine the potentiometer and the 58K resistor into a 68.9K resistor, and the output voltage will be almost 180v. The output voltage is 1.25* (1*R1/R2) and can be set by changing the sampling resistor.
Notes on drawing: Pay attention to the withstand voltage of the sampling resistor. The output feedback resistor voltage sampling point should be set after the capacitor. Do not take it directly from the diode output. The fb feedback line should be as close to the transformer as possible. The fb voltage dividing resistor should be as close to the chip as possible. Do not route or lay copper under the transformer. Keep the wiring as short as possible. Mos The line width from the pipe to the transformer is sufficient. There is no need to lay out copper. The loop should be as short as possible, otherwise it will be an EMI bomb or the ripples may become huge. .Finally

, I’m so addicted to food and so arrogant. The boss shook his head when he saw it. I just drew it for fun on the spur of the moment. The cost of the components is about 15 yuan. After seeing it, the boss decided to ask for help. High-voltage power supply. , pay attention to safety when eating, don’t eat
