Smart battery management for mobile robots

RDDRONE-BMS772

Overview

RDDRONE-BMS772 is a standalone BMS reference design for mobile robots such as drones and rovers, supporting 3 to 6 batteries. This reference design is also suitable for high-quality battery control in other devices such as portable medical equipment, high-energy power tools and personal mobility devices such as wheelchairs and scooters. Applications with larger battery counts can redesign the reference design to daisy-chain the BCC chips used.

The BCC device performs precise ADC conversions of the differential cell voltage and current. It is capable of very accurate battery charging, coulomb counting and battery temperature measurements. The S32K146 automotive MCU offers great flexibility and can communicate with PX4-based flight management units (FMUs) via UAVCAN or I2C/SMBus.
