Open source EtherCAT servo driver board design

Implementing EtherCAT CiA402 servo driver on STM32F1, STM32F with Arduino example

Overview
EtherCAT is a real-time Ethernet protocol for automation. It allows you to use a PC or laptop to control standard industrial equipment without the need for interface cards or special adapters. All it requires is a standard Ethernet card with an RJ45 port. It provides low and very predictable latency, making it the perfect motion control network for building modern CNC, robots, and other machines. The most popular EtherCAT application protocol for servo drives appears to be CANopen (based on EtherCAT) CiA402. This project is a free implementation of the CoE CiA402 standard that can be used with open motor controllers like ODrive, STMBL, or your next product. Along the way, it shows how to use free open source tools for EtherCAT device development.
