Overview
The 500 W power factor correction (PFC) front-end uses two PowiGaN-based HiperPFS-5 ICs (PFS5178F) in parallel, each operating as a 250 W PFC stage. The design is intended as a universal platform, operating from universal input line voltage (90-265 VAC) and providing a regulated 400 V DC output voltage and 500 W continuous output power. Input: 90 VAC - 265 VAC Output: 400 VDC Power Factor: > 0.9 at 20% load, > 0.95 at 50% load Output Power: 500W Efficiency: > 95% at 115 VAC and 230 VAC load Power Integrations INSOP-28 Low Profile SM package complies with EN61000-3-2 Class D standard 500 W Power Factor Correction (PFC) front end using two PowiGaN-based HiperPFS-5 ICs (PFS5178F) in parallel, each operating as a 250 W PFC stage.
